nextartspaceartist: ROUND 3 SEMI-FINALIST: JISOON PARK Currently working as a graphic designer for a mobile phone company in Korea, Jisoon Park turned to more artistic endeavors for a creative outlet that he couldn’t get out of his design career. He is motivated by the straw desire to just “draw something” and frequently influenced by music, which is a driving force in his life.Where did you grow up? Where do you live now? I grew up in Seoul, Korea (South) and live there now.What do you hope other people get out of your art? I hope people enjoy my artworks as they want to. I don’t mind if you find any philosophical meaning from the pieces. I don’t mind if you imagine bubble gum from the pieces. It depends on how you enjoy my artworks.What would you be doing if you weren’t an artist? Pop columnist. I love music and write about that. What is indispensable in your studio?  Backgound music while I’m working. If you could get any artist to do your portrait, who would you choose?Julian Opie. I’m a huge fan.
